Lehrer*Innen

Yago

Yago is known for his spontaneous and improvisational flair on the dance floor. It is really important to him to be a precise and considerate leader in order to offer a good dancing experience to the partner.

Drawing on his sports science background, Yago offers focused explanations and identifies fast physical limitations to provide effective corrections. Teaching with a lot of passion, he believes dancing to be the ultimate purification of the soul. When an individual is fully immersed in the music and the dance, he argues, they achieve the highest state of presence.

Yago has developed his skills under the tutelage of internationally acclaimed instructors such as Cristian Mauricio, Luis Duarte, and Leiván García, director of the Conjunto Folklórico Nacional.

Helen

Helen has been teaching in Berlin since 2018, specializing in Rueda de Casino. Her passion for Cuban culture and dance significantly enhances her exceptional teaching and dancing abilities. Rumba also holds a special place in her heart, allowing her to express herself freely in a graceful and feminine manner that celebrates womanhood.

Helen is a strong advocate for empowering her students to appreciate and enjoy dancing as a shared experience between partners, where both leaders and followers contribute equally. She keeps on developing specific “active following” principles to promote the idea that followers deserve equal recognition within the Berlin dance community. Her dancing has been mostly influenced by Sofia de Endaya, Sassan AliValiollahi and Luis Duarte.
